WTF PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE TO MNA, CU PRESIDENTS ON TAEKWONDO'S INCLUSION IN 2020 PARALYMPICS

Dearest Council members, Presidents and Secretaries General of MNAs and CUs,

I am delighted to inform you that the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Governing Board today announced that taekwondo will have the honor of making its historic debut in the Paralympic Games at Tokyo 2020.

We have always been committed to making our sport accessible to all, and inclusion in the Paralympic Games will help us to engage with more people than ever.

This decision made the dreams of our wonderful athletes come true. I am extremely thankful to our taekwondo families as this great achievement would have not been possible without your strong support and contributions.

I would like to take this opportunity to send my heartfelt appreciation to each of you. In particular, I wish to give my special thanks to the Para-taekwondo committee under the leadership of Mr. Koos Engelbrecht for their outstanding works for the past years improving Para-taekwondo to the level eligible for Paralympic Games.

This is only the beginning and we will work tireless with the IPC and the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games Organizing Committee to provide the ultimate sporting spectacle for Paralympic fans in 2020.
